WREG Live @ 9 Segment

We’ve had a lot of great press since we have started our business, but one of the most enjoyable experiences was being on live tv with a local news station. The great folks at WREG News channel three invited me to come on their Live @ 9 morning show. It was really great to be on TV and to be able to share some coffee education with the hosts of the show. They asked some really great questions, and were great sports for being willing to try whatever I threw their way. I hope you enjoy the video, and while you are here, you can pick up a bag of the Ethiopian Mokamba roast and the Costa Rica roast in our online store, or swing by some of our local partners who sell our coffee.

Here is a list of some local places you can pick up our coffee:

Avenue Coffee who’s information was in the video. They are located at 786 Echles St. Memphis, TN 38111

Cash Saver Madison. 1620 Madison Avenue Memphis, TN 38104. Our coffee is located in front of the growler fill station in the beer section of the store.

Miss Cordelia’s at 737 Harbor Bend Rd. Memphis, TN 38103.

The Wine Market at 4734 Spottswood Avenue Memphis, TN 38117.

Audience- “Espressos with Entrepreneurs” Episode 8

In this episode of Espressos with Entrepreneurs, Alan and I talk about how we convey different concepts to the audience that we are trying to reach. We both have vastly different audiences, but we try to communicate essentially the same information. We like to convey that we both make products of extremely high quality. Another thing that I try to convey to you the customer, is that I roast coffee of exceptional coffee in the city of Memphis. While I try to convey exceptional quality, I also like to convey that there is a very personal aspect to my business. I personally write all of these blogs, and the contact page email form goes directly to my personal inbox. Hopefully through these things you feel that you can connect with me and you can have any questions you may have answered.

It is my passion to create a more educated coffee drinking population in the city of Memphis and abroad, so I do my best to answer any questions you may have. If I don’t know the answer to your question, I’ll do my best to scour some resources in order to get that information to you. Websites- “Espressos with Entrepreneurs” Episode 7

In this episode of Espressos with Entrepreneurs we talk about the wonderful world of websites. We talk about the design, content, search engine optimization, and other things dealing with our websites. Like any of the other topics that we cover in our episodes, we don’t consider ourselves experts in the least bit, but we hope to convey just a little bit of helpful information to you the viewer to help you out with any struggles or questions you may have.

When we made this episode I had just started to work on the search engine optimization of my website. Since that time, I have progressed a page or two on both of the most important searches regarding my website. I’m still not to where I want to be in either of them, but it is a process that I am still working on all the time. If there is one thing that I can convey to anyone who is building or managing a website for their business, I would say the most important thing to remember is patience. It takes patience with working on the website to see results over a long period of time when it comes to search engine optimization, content, and view count. Don’t try to pressure yourself into having instant success at being a website master. It will only frustrate you and drag down the quality of your work. Keep working hard and adding content and learning more everyday about websites and search engine algorithms (that’s a fun one), and you will see great results over time!

Work/life balance- “Espressos with Entrepreneurs” Episode 6

In this episode, we discuss the importance of a healthy work life balance. Although Alan and I aren’t experts at running a business and walking out a healthy work life balance just yet, we give a few pointers on how to make sure you are engaged in your business or work and are still investing and engaging with the people that mean the most to you.

The biggest tip that I can give to people is to make sure that they aren’t giving more importance to the things that make them money than to the things that give them joy, specifically people that they love/love them. In the episode I talk about being present when you spend time with people you love and not giving to much importance to your cell phone when a notification goes off. Those social media sites will be there all the time, but the people that you love aren’t available all the time. Take the moments that you have with family and friends and cherish that and budget out time to be on social media when they aren’t around. I think if you follow those simple pointers, you will find that you will have a much healthier balance in life and be happier in your work and with the people around you.

Reverb Tour- “Espressos with Entrepreneurs” Episode 5

Sorry for the delay in updating our blog. If you read along in the next several blog posts, you will fully understand what was going on in my life. Here’s a hint… I got engaged, married, went on a honeymoon, bought a house, and moved. Needless to say I was a little bit busy. Now I’m back at it, and am updating the website for our visitors. Thanks for checking us out.

In this episode of Espressos with Entrepreneurs we take a tour of the roasting facility. It’s a small tour, but a fun one. On the tour, you will see how coffee transforms from a boring agricultural product into one of the most enjoyed substances on the face of our planet. I will walk you through the steps of the roasting process, and hopefully you will learn a thing or two about how I go about my day, and hopefully you will see the amount of care and attention to detail I put into roasting great coffee for you the customer.

Like I said, it’s a short tour, but we just wanted to give you a chance to go behind the scenes and get a closer look at everything. At Reverb, we strive to educate our customers and create a more knowledgeable coffee drinking community. If you ever have any questions about coffee, feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.

Quality- “Espressos with Entrepreneurs” Episode 4

Quality, it’s a word that can make or break any small business. In this episode of Espressos with Entrepreneurs, Jeremy and Alan discuss how we strive to set our businesses apart from our competitors. We seek to do this by giving our customers a product with the highest quality possible while keeping our prices reasonable or sometimes lower than our competitors.

If you know anything about my company, you know that quality is a word that is on the forefront of my mind at all times. I am trying to introduce the city of Memphis to the highest quality coffee it has ever seen. I try to present my coffee in the most professional manner, while still having the flair and persona of a small business. One way I ensure that my product gets to you the consumer with the highest quality possible is that I personally roast and package every single bean that goes to the market. You can see this by my packaging. I handwrite on all of the labels to ensure you that I have seen and touched every bag of coffee that goes to the market. I don’t know if this will be a sustainable practice once the business grows, but it is something that I will hold onto as long as possible. Once that practice is no longer sustainable, I will still personally taste every new roast and be sampling almost every batch to ensure that my customers are getting the highest quality coffee possible.

Favorites- “Espresso with Entrepreneurs” Episode 3

This is the next installment of “Espressos with Entrepreneurs”. In this episode, Alan and I talk about the favorite part of our jobs. Since we both started our own business, the favorite part of our jobs is quite different than if we still worked a typical job for someone else. I answer this question in the video below, but I’ll give you a sneak peek of the answer.

For me, the favorite part of running a coffee roasting company is to introduce people to the coffee that I roast. I roast what can be classified as specialty coffee. Specialty is kind of an awkward word for people to embrace sometimes though, so I’ll just use the word progressive. I am trying to advance the culture and quality of coffee here in the city of Memphis, so I try to talk about my coffee every chance I get. The favorite moments with my business in the past year or so have been when people try my coffee for the first time and are completely blown away by the quality and taste of the coffee. Since most people are accustomed to drinking other coffee brands that will go unnamed in this blog, they come to expect that kind of a taste in their coffee. What I roast is completely different from the generic, popular brands in the country. I try to roast the coffee to bring out all of the natural characteristics that the coffee already has inside of it. I like to drink my coffee black, and I like to encourage people to try it like that. To do that, I have to roast the coffee exceptionally well, and I feel like I do a good job of that. To finish, my absolute favorite moments are when people say, “Man, that’s the best coffee I’ve ever had!” That absolutely makes my day.

If you have had my coffee and loved it, comment on the video below and let me know. I love to hear from customers and friends when they have tried my coffee and are blown away by it.
