How buying through Reverb works
We’re not a store, and that’s the point. When you click through to a product, you’re buying it directly from Amazon at exactly the price you’d pay if you went there yourself — there’s no markup, no middleman, and your order, payment and shipping are all handled by Amazon. If you buy through one of our links, Amazon pays us a small commission at no extra cost to you. That commission is what funds the testing.
Crucially, it’s the same commission no matter which product you choose — so we have zero incentive to push you toward a pricier machine. Our only job is to point you to the gear that’s genuinely worth your money, whether that’s a $200 capsule machine or a $900 prosumer setup.
How we decide what makes the list
We don’t feature a product because a brand asked us to, or because it pays the best commission. Every item here has been used hands-on in our kitchen — dialed in, brewed with daily, cleaned and lived with — and scored on the things you actually feel: shot quality, consistency, ease of use, build and value.
If something is overpriced, unreliable, or simply outclassed by a cheaper option, it doesn’t make the cut — even when leaving it off costs us a sale. That’s the whole reason a guide like this is worth reading instead of just scrolling Amazon’s bestseller list. For the full process, see how we test.
